Future direction of the world

So today is election day in the United States. Today it will be decided what kind of a direction the world will take. I wish I could vote, but I can’t, so like most of the world I can only wait and hope. (I did, however, participate in ousting the social democratic party of Sweden from power a few years ago.) I’ve been getting more and more nervous the closer this day has come – what if McCain gets elected? It doesn’t matter if McCain really is “mavericky” or not – he is an old, while, straight, conservative man. Like Bush. And that’s enough. If America chooses Obama,  she will clearly break with the Bush doctrine and everything associated with it. She will choose a new path. Although it will take years to undo the damage Bush has done to America’s standing in the world, if it’s even possible, Obama will be just about the best realistic start I can think of.
