Communication Skills; Form and Substance
I always found it is also a bit presumptuous when friends and relatives (many of whom didn’t leave a single town until age 20) tell me I lack ‘etiquette’ or ‘the art of joining a conversation’ when I was serving and conversing with wives of diplomats and ladies in white gloves at age 7, dining with them at age 14 and giving flowers to the Queen of Belgium at 2. These people usually say that out of a belief that because they have ‘worldly’ functioning success of a nice house and a swanky car, they have something really mind-boggling or enlightening to say. The kind unwilling to come out of their comfort zone who can get somewhat uppity when the nonconformist attempts to force them out of it for their own good.
